Bodegas Osborne Ruby Porto
Bodegas Osborne Ruby Porto
This Port wine is a celebration of Portugal's illustrious winemaking history, a tango between time-honored practices passed down through the ages and cutting-edge modern procedures. The Osborne Ruby Port has a brilliant ruby color when poured into a glass. When held up, its medium viscosity reflects its rich but well-balanced make-up. The aroma of fresh red fruits, reminiscent of Portugal's vivid orchards, greets the nose as you draw near. After a sip, its true colors emerge, revealing a lush fruitiness and soft, sweet tannins.
It's best poured at a temperature between 15 and 17 degrees Celsius. Chilling it to between 8 and 12 degrees Celsius, on the other hand, provides a crisper edge for those seeking it. It's a great way to round off a dinner on a high note, but it really comes into its own when served with something decadent like cheese, chocolate, or a dense dessert. It's best consumed within the first two years of its life, when it's at its most vibrant.
Careful destemming ensures that only the highest quality grapes progress to fermentation. They transform here in the comfort of the stainless steel tanks, where the prolonged pumping helps bring out the wine's best qualities. After this, the wine spends more than three years patiently aging in oak barrels, where its richness can fully develop.
