Ron Abuelo Anejo XII Double Matured Rum

The Ron Abuelo Añejo XII Años TWO OAKS Double Matured is a 12 year old rum with double barrel maturation. After many years of ageing in specially selected ex-bourbon barrels, the rum is aged on specially toasted American oak.
The special feature of the second barrel is that it is first toasted for 60 minutes at 180°C to open the wooden structure. It is then fired at 220°C, creating a 7 to 8 mm thick porous carbon layer. - This gives the TWO OAKS its softness and mild smoky taste.

Tasting notes:
Colour: Deep dark amber.
Nose: Slightly smoky, intense oak, notes of vanilla, coffee, hints of toasted almonds.
Taste: Intense, complex, smoky sweetness, spices, caramel, roasted coffee beans.
Finish: Long lasting, hints of cola and nuts.
