The El Porvenir de Cafayate winery is a modest, family-run operation in the Salta province of Argentina. They are particularly interested in 45-50 year old vines producing Torrontes, Malbec, Tannat, and red blends. Surrounded by ancient cacti, these vineyards are located at an altitude of 1,900 meters, making them some of the highest in the world. The dramatic temperature swings and plentiful mountain sunlight result in wines with a rich color and supple tannins.

The grapes for this wine come from the Finca Ro Seco vineyards, which sit at an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level. Grapes are picked by hand in the first two weeks of March, then undergo cold maceration and fermentation at cool temperatures, with malolactic fermentation occurring naturally.
