For Dominicans, Barceló Imperial rum, aged and made 100% in the Dominican Republic, is par excellence the ideal rum to offer since the 1980s. On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of this cuvée, the Barceló house wished to fully exploit its potential to create an even more exceptional rum.
This year, Barceló Imperial achieved its best expression. His secret? An additional two-year maturation in Château d'Yquem barrels. All the sweetness you would expect from an old rum. Balance, gluttony and opulence: fruit cream, vanilla, roasted hazelnuts, cocoa butter, caramel.
The distillery is located in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, it produces one of the most popular rums.
Intense coppery brown colour. The fragrance of Mocha coffee melted caramel, exquisite dried spices, dried black cherries and honeyed raisins, followed by a mild entry to a semi-dry but fruity body of great depth and evolutions of layers of nuts with spices, crème brûlée and notes of dried fruit. Finish with a prolonged flavour of pepper leaf and elegant tobacco. A deliciously rich and aged rum, ready to be savoured enjoying every sip.

Nose: Dark brown and garnet hues, each sip of this rum greets you with a generous helping of caramel and coffee supported by notes of raisins, toffee, creamy vanilla, oak, orange peel, nutmeg, and faint hints of tobacco.
Palate: This is immediately followed by a scrumptious and multi-layered palate of even more caramel and toffee, creamy mocha, dark chocolate, roasted almonds, sweet black cherry, cola, dried citrus peels, more nutmeg, and a dash of black pepper spice.
Finish: A long, lingering finish of oak and firm tannins.
